So many times I get asked the question – how do you come up with your stories? I can tell you now, the answer changes as many times as I’m asked about it.
Lately, I’ve been inspired by other writers. I read the Divergent series by Veronica Roth a few months ago and since then I have really wanted to write something completely out of the box and different. I have already started that book and it’s coming along very nicely.
Other times, music is one of my inspirations. I’ve been listening to a lot of Christina Perri lately and I swear I want to write something that would convey the same emotions as Jar of Hearts. Every time I hear that song, I try to imagine what loser of a guy could cause so much heartbreak to inspire those lyrics. I want a story that powerful. I’m working it. Watch this space.
So basically, inspiration comes from everywhere. Sometimes it’s a song, other times it’s a quote, or even just a stranger I see in the street. There is no rhyme or reason why stories pop into my head. But I sure am glad they do. Otherwise, there would be nothing to write about and share with you.
Open up your mind and I’m sure you could find inspiration in anything too.
